Rolex Day-Date ref. 1802 Domed Bezel Blue Dial

A Day-Date on president bracelet is truly classic. Luxurious yet robust, it can be recognized from across the room. What we have here is a variant for those who are infatuated by Day-Date DNA yet yearn to be a little different. This is a ref. 1802, not it’s more common brother the 1803. The 1802 sports a polished domed bezel vs. the 1803’s classic fluted bezel. It really just gives the watch an entirely different look. It’s also significantly rarer. Some folks have argued 10x rarer than your standard 1803.

This particular example features a very attractive blue sunburst dial which really sings in the sunlight. The watch has had an acrylic domed bezel installed which compliments the look of the domed bezel perfectly. This dial really sings without the cyclops interfering with the feng shui of the dial.

The 18k president bracelet is in solid shape for its age with moderate stretch. It has a 72 clasp code dating it to 1972. Overall the watch is in solid condition with lots of life left on the lugs. It’s been polished sparingly throughout its lifetime and has a great overall look. There is one larger ding by 5 o’clock on the side of the case . This example is a 2.7M serial dating to the end of 1971. It’s keeping great time and is ready to be enjoyed for years to come.
