Rolex Day Date 18038 'Onyx Dial' Full Set

I’ve long been infatuated by the Rolex Day-Date. No other watch combines elegance with ruggedness in such regal fashion. Well within the lexicon of Day-Date variations, the stone dial family might just be the most regal of them all; the King of Presidents so to speak.

This particular ref. 18038 is a gorgeous, all original, Onyx dial that is preserved in incredible original condition. The dial is absolutely perfect, no crack or scratch to be found anywhere. This is no mean feat when it comes to stone dials, they are known to be exceptionally fragile. This watch came to me one step removed from the original owner who very seldom wore this piece. The case is sharp and likely unpolished and the bracelet is as tight as they come and has all of its links. The green caseback sticker is still intact.

Additionally, watch is preserved as a full set with correct leather box, papers, hangtags, booklets, polishing cloth as well as an appraisal done in 1989. When it comes to stone dials, it’s always nice to have the papers as they specify the dial the watch was born with. These papers have 9X after the reference number which correctly correlates to Onyx. It’s hard enough to find a Onyx dial Day-Date preserved in perfect original condition, but to find one with full set is exceedingly rare.
